De Leon ISD would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the veterans who joined us on Tuesday and to everyone who helped make our Veterans Day assembly so meaningful.
A special thanks to Trenton Roberts and his dual credit class for hosting and stewarding the event, and to our NHS students for proudly placing flags throughout town in honor of our veterans.
We are also deeply grateful to Shaun Olsberg, father of Emma Jean Olsberg, for sharing such an inspiring message with our students and community.
Thank you to the Advanced Floral Design class for creating the beautiful backdrop that set the tone for the ceremony, Jayde Peters from Perkins Middle School for her description of the Missing Man table, Koda and Cataleya Pagitt for playing God Bless America on the fiddle, and to Principal Chuck Miller, Band Director Mattie McMeens, and senior Bella Gonzales for the moving patriotic performances as the trumpet ensemble and during Taps.
