Dear Perkins Middle School Families, Staff, and Community,
My name is Dr. Taylor Delka, and I am truly honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Perkins Middle School. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join DeLeon ISD and become part of the Bearcat family!
Education and student growth have always been at the center of my passion and purpose. I believe schools should be places where every student feels valued, supported, challenged, and inspired to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I am committed to building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community as we work together to create meaningful opportunities and experiences for all learners.
My family and I are excited to become part of the DeLeon community. Family is very important to me, and I understand the trust parents place in schools each day. I look forward to partnering with you to ensure Perkins Middle School continues to be a place where students thrive and feel connected.
I have an incoming freshman named Ember, a 7th grade young man named Arrow and a 4th grader named Evangeline or “Evie”. I have been married for 15 years to my wonderful partner, Elliot Delka. We have loved the small town schools and rural way of life for many years and our focus is on serving others in all we do.
As I begin this new journey, I am eager to learn more about the traditions, strengths, and goals that make Perkins Middle School so special. I look forward to meeting each of you, supporting our incredible staff, celebrating our students, partnering with parents and building a culture centered on excellence, relationships, and student success.
